Duties
The duties of the Public Works Department are as varied as the employees themselves.
They may be seen anywhere around town at any given time.
They could be picking up limbs, mowing grass, cleaning curbs, painting fire hydrants, shoveling snow, or many other things too numerous to mention.
These men are also volunteer firemen, which helps our town to maintain a high ISO rating since we always have someone available to respond to fire or emergency calls.
Chris Renfrow - Director
Chris Renfrow has served as the Town’s Public Works Director since August 2024. He previously worked in the Public Works Department from 2008 to 2014, where he built a strong foundation of experience and earned a reputation as a dependable and hardworking employee. Chris is also a member of the Rockwell City Fire Department and, along with his family, proudly resides in Rockwell, giving him a strong personal commitment to serving the community.
Full-Time Employees
Brian Shuffler and Jordan Cress are the Town’s full time Public Works employees.
Brian has been with Town several years and Jordan joined the Public Works Department in 2025.
Part-Time Employees
The Town also employees part–time and seasonal employee to assist with Public Works duties
