Which utilities service the area? 

    City of Salisbury – Water & Sewer Services  
    Duke Energy Co. – Electric Services 
    Piedmont Natural Gas – Natural Gas Services 
    Windstream & Time Warner – Both companies offer Telephone, Cable, & High Speed Internet Connections

How are residential garbage pickup and recycling handled and when?

    Pickups will be every Friday unless Christmas or New Years happens to fall on a Friday.  Pickup will then be on Saturday.   See Garbage and Recycling in the Public Works section for more details.

What are the local schools?

How are shelters at the Rockwell Park reserved?

    Shelters may be reserved by calling 704-279-2180. There is a $25.00 fee for blocks of 4 hours.  The gazebo may be reserved for weddings or special occasions by calling the above listed number.

How can you reserve the Rockwell Civic Center?

    Reservations are made on a first come / first served basis. Call 704-279-2180 to check for availability. If the date you require is open, it will be penciled in, but will not be reserved until $50.00 is brought in to Town Hall at 202 East Main Street. $25.00 for the rental and $25.00 for the deposit (which is returned when the key is returned).

 What is the population of Rockwell?

    As of 2015, the population of Rockwell was 2124.

What is the tax rate for the Town of Rockwell and Rowan County?

    The Town of Rockwell tax rate is .42 per $100 of valuation and Rowan County is
    .6625 per $100.

When are the Board of Aldermen meeting and the Planning Board?

    The monthly meeting of the Rockwell Board of Aldermen is held the second Monday of the month at 7 pm.  The location is Town Hall, 202 East Main St., Rockwell.

What form of Government is the Town of Rockwell? 

    The Town of Rockwell is chartered under the Mayor/Council form of Government.  This means that the Mayor is elected under a separate ballot than the Board of Aldermen.  We have five Aldermen seats up for election every two years as well as Mayor.  There is no Town Manager or Administrator.  The Town Department heads are:  Town Clerk, Police Chief, Public Works Director, Fire Chief and Zoning Administrator
