The Rockwell City Fire Department facility is located at 116 South Cherry Street in Rockwell, North Carolina. 

It was constructed in 1985 and consists of a 6800 sq. ft. facility with six "drive-thru" bays, along with an equipment storage area, meeting/training room, day area, kitchen, administrative offices, and bunk room.

It is an organization supported by 29 volunteer members with daytime staffing consisting of part-time personnel. They have committed their efforts to making their community a safer place to live and work.  It's thru these efforts and a commitment from the Town of Rockwell that has brought this department to an ISO rating of Class 3.

The department is structured as a two company department with a Chief, Deputy  Chief, and Assistant Chief serving as the departmental leadership.

The members are divided into two companies, an Engine Co. and a Ladder Co.  Each company is supervised by a captain along with 10-12 volunteer members.  The Engine Co. is responsible for the 2 front line engines: E-701 - 2003 Spartan/KME Rescue Pumper; E-702 - 1995 Spartan/KME Pumper; and the the 2008 Ford F250 brush unit - B-707.  The Ladder Co. is responsible for the first out ladder; L-70, a 1989 Spartan/FMC 50' Telesquart, along with the First Responder Rescue Unit; and Squad 70 - a 2001 Ford F250 Squad/Personnel unit. is the official web site of the Town of Rockwell, North Carolina
